23 Mar Review: Virtu Beard Oil
One of the first things I picked up on from moving to San Diego from New York is the change from humidity to absolute atmospheric dryness. With the climate change and lack of moisture in the air, one’s skin and hair tends to dry out and get “flaky.” This is absolutely true with beards as well, hence the importance of using beard oil regularly.
It was around the time of my move from the east coast to the west that I began using a new product called Virtu Beard Oil. Virtu Beard Oil is manufactured by Liberty Premium Grooming Co. in the United States using only natural ingredients: almond oil (Prunus dulcis), hemp seed oil (Cannabis sativa), jojoba oil (Simmondsia chinensis), grapeseed oil (Vitis vinifera), eucalyptus, vitamin E, and a minty fragrance. These ingredients help soften beard hairs and provide the beard with essential oils that repair and condition dry beards.
Immediately upon opening the bottle, I loved the minty fresh smell. Some beard oil fragrances aren’t that pleasant or some take a little bit of time to get used to and like. Not only did I like the smell, but other people began to notice and send over a wave of compliments. Although this one aspect is based on my personal sense of smell, it’s quite important to me to enjoy the fragrance of the product I’m applying to the face below my nostrils.
The beard oil itself is all in all a very good product. After a week of use without any other beard grooming products, my beard transformed into a softer and shinier version of itself. Virtu Beard Oil gives the beard a life of its own that anyone would be able to notice. In a drier climate with limited moisture, it definitely came in handy using twice a day, especially after washing my face. This kept my beard hairs from drying out and turning into a metal scouring pad. The only way I can really describe the feeling of using this particular beard oil is its similarity to the freshness of brushing your teeth.
1 oz (30 ml) Virtu Beard Oil bottles are sold by Liberty Premium Grooming Co. on Amazon.com for $27.99 currently, which is right in the middle of the pack of beard oil price ranges. Certainly, it’s a worthy investment if you’re looking for a great beard oil that will last a long time.
